Preparation Checklist
What You May Need For Your Notarization
Use this checklist to arrive prepared for your notary appointment. A few minutes of preparation prevents reschedules and ensures your documents are accepted by the receiving party.
Valid Government-Issued ID
Original, current, unexpired photo ID (passport, state ID, driver's license, military ID)
Permanent Resident Card / EAD card or Tribal ID with photo
Photocopies, expired IDs, and Social Security cards are NOT acceptable
Unsigned Documents
All blanks filled in advance — except signature, initial, and date lines
Complete documents including all exhibits and attachments
Do NOT pre-sign — signatures must occur in the notary's presence
Witness Requirements
Confirm the number of witnesses required by the recipient
Witnesses must be 18+, impartial, and able to verify identity
Witnesses cannot be named in or benefit from the document
Remote Online Notarization (RON)
Device with working camera, microphone, and reliable internet
Government photo ID for credential analysis
Quiet, private, well-lit space for the recorded session
Confirmation that your recipient accepts Nevada RON
All Signers Present
Every signer physically (or virtually for RON) present
Alert, aware, and signing of their own free will
Payment
Card (Stripe), Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, or invoicing for businesses
Travel and after-hours fees confirmed before dispatch
Document Preparation
Confirm the type of notarial act required (acknowledgment, jurat, copy cert.)
Spelling of names exactly matches your government ID
Bring any cover letters or recipient instructions
Appointment Readiness
Be ready 5 minutes before the scheduled time
Allow approximately 15–30 minutes for most signings
Notify us immediately if you anticipate a delay
Fraud Prevention Awareness
Never sign a document you have not read or do not understand
No third-party pressure or coaching during the signing
Notaries must decline any signing that raises legitimate concerns
